Stop shooting blind with your CPA campaigns! It's time to replace guesswork with a laser-focused strategy. Discover the critical metrics that will transform your campaigns from mediocre to money-making powerhouses. CPA campaigns drive users to take specific actions like completing a purchase, submitting a form, or signing up for a service. Here's a breakdown of the crucial metrics to monitor:
1. Traffic-Related Metrics
- Clicks: The initial measure of user interaction with your affiliate links. It indicates interest but doesn't guarantee conversions.
- Impression: Reveals how many times your affiliate ad or link has been displayed, gauging overall campaign visibility.
- Click-Through Rate (CTR): The percentage of impressions leading to clicks. A high CTR suggests your ad or offer resonates with your target audience.
- Traffic Sources: Understand where your clicks are coming from (search engines, social media, other websites). Optimizing for the most effective traffic sources will increase your campaign success.
2. Conversion-Focused Metrics
- Conversions: The heart of your CPA campaign. This represents the number of successful desired actions users complete.
- Conversion Rate (CR): This percentage measures how well you turn clicks into conversions. A higher CR is always desirable for a profitable campaign.
- Cost Per Action (CPA): The metric for campaign efficiency. It reflects how much you pay for each conversion. Aim to keep your CPA lower than your payout per conversion to guarantee profitability.
3. Earnings & Profitability Metrics
- Earnings Per Click (EPC): Calculates your average earnings per click on affiliate links. A high EPC implies a worthwhile offer/campaign.
- Revenue: The total income generated from your affiliate campaign.
- Return on Investment (ROI): Demonstrates the overall profitability of your campaign. Calculate ROI by subtracting campaign costs from revenue and dividing that by campaign costs. A positive ROI means you are making a profit.
Tracking metrics on MyLead’s offers with CPV One
Prerequisites:
- You have a CPV One account (If not, they offer a free trial to get started)
- You have a MyLead account
Step 1: Integrate CPV One and MyLead
Go to Sources/Offer Sources and click on Import from Catalog and choose MyLead.
You will integrate the platforms and get a postback URL in one click.
Put the Postback URL in the Postback Api box.
And check if everything is ok in For Webmasters/Postback.
Step 2: Find the offer in MyLead. If you are unsure or need advice you can contact support to help you to decide what to promote
Let’s take SurfShark’s offer as an example.
Step 3: Obtain Your Affiliate Link from MyLead
Navigate to the SurfShark affiliate program within MyLead.
Click on URL Generator.
Click on additional link parameters And put the sub id token from CPV One in parameter 1 (the CPV One parameter is {!subid!}.
Make sure you always have the sub id in parameter 1 for the Postback URL to work properly.
Another way to create affiliate URLs with the right parameters, is using the CPV One platform template for MyLead.
To do that, go to sources/offer sources and see the URL templates for all networks.
And add the token you see on the url from the “Offer Template” field
In our case:
The Affiliate URL to the offer is `https://redirecting8.eu/p/Z1uY/Up0l/Uv8J`
And in the CPV One platform we can see the offer template is: {your_offer_url}?ml_sub1={!subid!}
So your affiliate link will be: https://redirecting8.eu/p/Z1uY/Up0l/Uv8J?ml_sub1={!subid!}
This is the link you need to put in step 4 below.
Step 4: Create an Offer in CPV One
Go to LPs&Offfer -> Offer Management.
Add your offer (affiliate link from step1).
Make sure you choose "MyLead" as source and payout ( we have % of sale, not fix payout here and that is why is 0).
Save.
Step 5: Create a Campaign in CPV One
We will not cover this part here. You can read more about creating campaigns in the CPV Lab documentation. Our goal here is to explain how you can track all metrics from one place and get everything you need to make right decisions.
Step 6: Analyze, Optimize, Repeat
You can track all these metrics inside the CPV One’s platform.
Traffic Metrics
- Clicks: Monitor the number of clicks your Shark’s affiliate links receive, revealing audience interaction.
- Impressions: Measure how often your ads or links are displayed, showcasing your campaign's visibility.
- Click-Through Rate (CTR): Calculate the percentage of impressions that turn into clicks. High CTR indicates your promotion resonates with your audience.
- Traffic Sources: Identify which platforms (social media, blogs, etc.) send the most visitors. This helps you focus on high-converting channels.
Conversion Metrics
- Conversions: CPV One will meticulously track successful sales of SurfShark subscriptions generated through your affiliate campaign.
- Conversion Rate (CR): Assess the efficiency of your landing pages and offers with precise conversion rate stats.
- Earnings Per Click (EPC): See how much you earn (on average) for each click leading to a sale. Use this to make decisions about the offer's profitability.
Cost & Profitability Metrics
- Cost Per Action (CPA): Observe how much you spend with ad networks or traffic sources to achieve each SurfShark sale. Ensure MyLead's payout per conversion more than covers your CPA to stay profitable.
- Return on Investment (ROI): CPV One will help you calculate ROI. The goal is to ensure your revenue from SurfShark sales exceed your campaign costs.

Now that you're tracking these essential metrics within your CPA platform, it's time to put that data to work. Here's how to use your findings for continuous improvement:
- Identify Strengths and Weaknesses: What's working and what's not? High CTR but low conversion rate might indicate a problem with your landing page. Low impressions may signify issues with ad targeting.
- Compare Across Campaigns: Analyze metrics for different campaigns, offers, or traffic sources. This helps pinpoint top performers and areas needing refinement.
- Experiment and A/B Test: Use insights from your analysis to guide A/B testing. Test different ad copy, landing pages, or offers to see what drives better results.
- Adapt and Adjust: Your CPA platform's analytics dashboard won't solve problems on its own. Use the data to make informed decisions, continually adjusting your campaigns for maximum efficiency.
Metrics analysis is an ongoing process driving campaign optimization, not a one-time task. Regularly revisit your dashboard to monitor changes, spot trends, and refine your strategy.
Successful CPA campaigns thrive on a comprehensive understanding of traffic patterns, conversion effectiveness, and cost efficiency.
By diligently tracking these crucial metrics with tools like CPV One, you gain clear insights to pinpoint strengths, address weaknesses, and unlock the full potential of your affiliate marketing efforts.
