[CASE STUDY]: Legal way to promote movies and series
Do you like watching movies and series or you just consider yourself a huge fan of Netflix & Chill? If the answer is yes, you should read the following text to find out more about earning with one of the MyLead’s campaigns. Want to know what we’re talking about?
Have you ever heard of Online Cinema? It’s a VOD search engine and a partner program allowing you to earn by promoting films and series in dozens of different VOD services all over the world.

Type: CPA | Rate: $0.01 - 10.62 | Conversiontype: Account creation and activation using Content Locker | Countries: GLOBAL | Preview: click
The mechanism is quite simple. You promote the link to the search engine of the best cinema productions and get a commission after your customer’s registration and action performance. It’s very similar to Content Locker usage actually. To unlock access to a certain movie, you just have to complete the task from the list. It looks more or less like this:
Everything is totally legit and you don’t have to worry about any inconveniences.
So let’s get straight to the point. We’re going to tell you a little more about the possibilities in the example of one of our users, John. He told us he decided to try out the campaign as he’s really interested in action movies. It’s always a good idea to promote something you know how to sell because you’re more reliable and trustworthy. When you have any issues in deciding which niche to choose, why don’t you bet on something you’re really into?
Anyways, John decided to promote the service using Facebook groups, online forums and Twitter mostly by hashtags and comments. Facebook is still one of the most popular social networks where you can find billions of people talking about every single existing topic. Movies and series are no exception. And in the toughest times like pandemic, there’s a huge demand for entertainment (especially if it’s available online). The same when you think about Twitter. All the promotion ways he used were chosen because of one simple fact - he didn’t want to pay for the promotion.
Firstly he had to read the terms and find out if there are any restrictions in promoting the program. As we mentioned, John’s a huge fan of action movies so he decided to promote this certain category of films. For his actions to make sense, he had to identify the target audience to make sure he’d reach the people interested in such content.
Firstly, he wanted to reach the people who just want to watch a film. For most action productions, the primary target audience is young males aged around 16-25 years old. It’s because of the large amounts of fast-paced scenes, violence and undemanding entertainment which would be the gratifications this audience will look for. However, males that are 40+ would also enjoy the content.
When it comes to targeting VOD services, we highly recommend focusing on Tier 1 or Tier 2 countries but also not choosing Tier 4 etc. First of all, torrents are still in use so people don’t feel the need to do something to get the ability to watch a movie. On the other hand, the more developed countries mean higher rates which is a very important factor in generating profit.
When that was done he started the promotion wanting to reach the most interested audience. It is worth noting that OnlineCinema works globally so he could target his actions wherever he wanted to.
The campaign was conducted in two weeks (14/02/2021 - 1/03/2021). The amount he earned was $256,52. Not bad, huh? 4059 people visited the site with the link he promoted and that led to 212 leads. The conversion rate was 5,22% which is quite nice.
As you can see, earning on VOD doesn’t equal willow pears but you can earn some nice additional money, especially with a little bit of time and some clever ideas. We keep repeating that because all you need to do to succeed in affiliate marketing is an open mind. Would you give it a try?
