Affiliate marketing on the blog. Seven things to remember
1. Know your audience
The most effective in affiliate marketing is the promotion of products or services that your recipients expect, and of course, the same applies to creating the content. It’s obvious, but it works. Consider why your recipients follow your websites, return to your portal, or read your newsletter - what makes them stay in some sort of relationship with you. They are certainly interested in what you have to offer. Don't stop doing that. Prepare the content that will bring something to their lives. It will keep them with you for longer. Maybe it's worthwhile to focus on a little deeper analysis too?
Find out where your recipients come from, how old they are and what devices they use. To do this, you can use the possibilities of Google Analytics or use the so-called heatmap. Thanks to it, you will easily identify the behavior of your recipients. You will learn their preferences about graphics and types of photos, as well as what distracts them from the main content of the site.
2. Share valuable content
Currently, affiliate marketing relies heavily on the value of promoted content. The greater the added value, the more likely someone will come back for more. If you want to earn, then make sure that your content is valuable. Create content that stands out with quality. Also, remember about SEO optimization. Choose the most suitable titles and descriptions for each subpage, the correct URLs, and the proper arrangement of headers. Avoid short texts consisting of a few sentences and make sure that the content you publish is original and visually varied as well. The text blocks will certainly not draw the reader's attention and won't encourage them to stay on the site. Use italics and bolding, and if content can be divided into smaller parts, use bullets.
3. Be credible
Readers are not foolish and know perfectly well when you use affiliate links. Therefore, promote only those products that you are really able to recommend, in which you believe that they are worthy of recommendation. Remember, if you fail to trust your audience at least once, they may never come back. If the reader is aware that everything you publish is posted only for profit, and the products or services you are describing aren't worth a penny, they will certainly resign from visiting your website again or unsubscribe from the newsletter. Ask yourself a few questions:
Would I buy this product myself?
Do I like the brand that created this product?
What is my attitude towards products of this type?
If you can, check the product by yourself. Test it. Find out if what you are going to recommend is really worthy of attention. In the MyLead Panel you will find hundreds of campaigns that you can use. It is important to be sincere. This is how you build trust.
4. Be transparent
Always be clear about which of your links are affiliate links. Readers appreciate your honesty and will feel better knowing that you are taking it seriously. If they discover that you aren't honest, they will bypass your link and find the product directly on the manufacturer's website, only to stop you from making money. Integrity and transparency are an essential part of building a loyal recipient base. Sometimes, however, it is not just about being transparent. Perhaps one day you will be able to offer a bonus. Make sure that the reader will want to use it then.
5. Choose carefully what you promote
Take the time to think about the various options you have. Think which products or services will interest your recipients and which may be really useful to them. Moreover, don't be afraid to test new solutions. Try to use new graphics, formulate sentences differently, change the content of the ad. See what brings the greatest benefits for you and your audience.
6. Create a timeless content
Some content can bring measurable benefits even if it hasn't been on the main page of your blog or website for a long time. How is this possible? Think about content related to some specific period of the year, such as Christmas. This type of content can generate profits every year due to its both unique and universal character. Therefore, it is worth spending a little more time preparing timeless content, which will work well for years and will never go out of fashion. Just tell your readers about it in an interesting way!
